The City of Shoshone is updating its Comprehensive Plan. This type of plan is required by Idaho state law and must address topics ranging from land use to transportation. In general, the Comprehensive Plan (or Comp Plan) helps the city plan for the needs of its current and future residents over the next 20 years. Ultimately, the Plan is intended to implement actions that improve quality of life, ensure freedom of choice by providing healthy options, and address the multiple elements of health in a person’s life.
Shoshone seeks to strengthen these qualities of its Plan by incorporating community health factors into its findings and recommendations. This survey is one part of a process to understand Shoshone health issues. The issues can be understood through surveys, data collection, and observation. Although some health conditions may be obvious, such as limited access to jobs or food outlets, others are less obvious. In cases where such conditions may not be identifiable from common data sources, they may require more analysis and research. This survey is an important input that will help develop a stronger, more informed Plan by learning about what is happening in Shoshone. Once finalized, the Shoshone Comprehensive Plan will guide City efforts, funding decisions, partnerships, and many other actions. https://www.surveyhero.com/c/Shoshone-Health Quick LinksShoshone School District
