For now we urge all citizens to shelter in place, avoid crowded gatherings, and be diligent with personal hygiene. If you are virus symptomatic please call your health care provider for instructions. Shoshone City Hall and Library remain closed to the public until further notice. All other City services will continue. The Shoshone Police Department will be adding additional shifts to assist citizens with any needs that arise. If you have immediate needs please call City Hall and we will do our best to help. A huge thank you to all Shoshone City Employees and our First Responders. Your service and dedication is truly appreciated. We are all blessed to live in this amazing caring community. Please watch out for your neighbors and our elderly. Together we will get through this pandemic. Mayor Dan Pierson March 18, 2020
Concerning COVID-19 The City of Shoshone has been monitoring the Coronavirus pandemic closely throughout the last week. It is recommended that citizens follow the guidelines set forth by the White House and CDC. In addition to these, city officials are following the guidance relayed by the Governor’s Office, Lincoln County Office of Emergency Management and South Central Public Health Dept. A few important reminders are as follows: • Stay home if possible. Practice good hygiene and remember to wash your hands and avoid touching your face. This will help prevent the spread of the virus. • If you are feeling ill, follow the advice of your healthcare professional. • Avoid group gatherings. • Please do not hoard groceries and household products. It has been relayed that there is no shortage of supplies in the country and taking more than necessary may prevent others in need of obtaining items. • Lastly, refrain from flushing any items, other than toilet paper, down the toilet. This will keep the city’s system operating efficiently. As of Wednesday March 18, 2020 the Shoshone City Hall and the Shoshone Library will be closed to the public until further notice. We know this will cause an inconvenience but the health of our citizens and employees are our top priority. We can take payments using a credit or debit card over the phone, or you can leave your payments in the drop box. (If you use cash, we will not be able to make change for you). Please contact 208-886-2030 to make a payment or for other city business or information. The Shoshone Library can be reached at 208-886-2843. We will keep citizens informed of changes as they arise. Remember to stay kind and help your neighbors during this time. |
